The opportunity:
The maintenance manager is responsible for the site's overall maintenance operations. This includes managing a team of maintenance technicians, developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and optimizing maintenance processes to maximize plant uptime and efficiency. They will report to the Operations Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
- Foster a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and company policies.
- Promote teamwork and collaboration within the maintenance department and across other departments.
Maintenance Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement comprehensive preventive maintenance programs for all site equipment and systems.
- Plan and schedule maintenance activities to minimize downtime and disruption to production.
- Ensure maintenance support for 24/7 site operation.
- Oversee the execution of maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of equipment.
- Manage maintenance budgets and ensure cost-effective utilization of resources.
Continuous Improvement:
- Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Lead root cause failure analysis investigations.
- Implement strategies to optimize maintenance processes and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and new technologies in maintenance management.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Other Duties:
- Manage and maintain maintenance records and documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams on equipment design, installation, and modifications.
- Participate in plant-wide initiatives and projects as required.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field OR 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor in a chemical processing or manufacturing environment in lieu of a degree.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management in a chemical processing or manufacturing environment.

- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Proficiency in computer maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Familiarity with various types of plant equipment, including pumps, compressors, reactors, and control systems.
- Industrial working knowledge, including hands-on experience in troubleshooting problems that arise on the maintenance floor.
- Proven project management and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective budget planning and management.
- Experience with MRO parts inventories and procurement fundamentals.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred
- Working knowledge of SAP and or other ERP processes and systems preferred
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- May be exposed to hazardous chemicals and noisy environments.
